HIGHLIGHTS AND STARS

Friday, October 9th, 2009

…It was also a pleasure to run into some of our favorite people from up in the hills and down on the Boulevard, Sylvester Stallone dropped by to meet Jose and check out some of the work…The constant fast-paced busyness of the booth, became THAT more entangled…

Sly and Droop

It was all smiles and like talking to an old friend about tattoos and art, the easy going and approachable Sly was just excited about the convention as everybody else and couldn’t wait to get some new work…

Rocky and Boxer

…and then the notorious drummer of Motley Crue, Tommy Lee (below) dropped in with Mario Barth to get a closer look…We’ll never forget the second he saw the “Tattoo Life” girl on Mark’s leg, the look on his face was priceless…

Tommy Lee

Mario made sure we were taken care of, introducing us to some of his best friends and past clients such as Sly and Tommy, as well as Evan Seinfield (above) of Biohazard/Damnocracy/Spyderz who MCed the convention…Below Tommy and Mario check out the new Urban Ink magazine with the spread on Jose Lopez…

Still want more from Vegas!? We got more coverage to come…

URBAN INK

Friday, September 25th, 2009

A special thanks to Travellin’ Mick and Urban Ink Tattoo Magazine for the outstanding twelve page article on Jose Lopez and Lowrider Tattoo on their most recent issue featuring Busta Rhymes on the cover…

When you hear the name ‘Lowrider’ stereotypical images of a hardened or slick player may spring to mind- trust that Jose and Lowrider are anything but stereotypical…“

“He looked at the work by his heroes-Paul Booth, Tony Olivias, Jack Rudy, even his old friend- Chuey Quintanar…armed with their advice…Lopez eventually mastered grey lining and light wash shading.”

Always a pleasure to be put out their, but never forget where you come from and who helped you get there. That is why every chance we get, we have to give our props to the people who helped us get where we are and so paved the way for us. Our debt to the difference makers can never be accounted for. Once again, thanks Mick!!
