Johnny’s lettering above is an excellent example of different fonts carefully put together. We have Beveled Blocks to Solid Caps ending with Tip Shaded Handwriting. All Freehand as well, Johnny Opina is an asset to our studio with his always sought-after hand styles!

Next Miguel Ochoa shows 3 unique sets in one tattoo. Taking an entire quote and making it strong and consistent is tough, but he manages to pull it off and caps off the top of it all with some inverted smoke, way to go homie!!!

Script Noah

Last but not least, the newest addition to the Lowrider Staff, The Kid, Noah Minuskin. Very clean and sharp handwriting with ghost lines to follow it, is a killer combination non the less.

ESTANCIA HIGH.

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

gaby-3

Local student from Newport-Mesa Unified School District came into the shop a few days ago inquirying if she was primitted to walk through and stay to ask a few questions.  Other students have roamed our shop as well and every time someone new walks in its always a progressive interaction.  Not  to get a tattoo, not to kill time but an honest teenager interseted in observing the old art in a new environment.  Surrounded by big screens and the latest technology Gaby only had her eyes set on the art, tattoos, and artists at work.  She had interestes of writing a report on the hands on observation of the tattooing process.

gaby-2

Intrigued by the making of the stencil to the placement and adhesive used, Gaby did not lose sight of every action.  The first day she came in she obsereved Gustavo throw down a sick tattoo and Miguels lettering from its pencil beginnings.  What is that? How’d you do that? Why? Wait, what did you do?  The second day, on St. Pratricks Day she was presented to Jose and stepped into his office for an official glimse.  Our friend Scott was in session heming up his beuaitful sleeve in progress.  Scott even added expressing his insights and expreince in the chair as a tattoo collector.  So much more can be wriiten on just this story alone, like the half hour that Jose dedicated in giving his thoughts and insights, to Scotts personal life expriences.  Gaby we’re leaving the rest of the story for your high school report…
