Thursday, September 24th, 2009
Its been an hour after landing and we’re all real tired……can’t wait to get some rest in our room after check in. But our boys Jamie and Alex took us around the city to check out some museums. To our surprise, there was a Mayan exhibit goin on…
It was crazy, to see our cultural roots taking place and memorialized half way across the world…it got all of us amped up for what’s to come…
Mark, like always, was being a little clown. Reminded me of the last time we were in Rome when he almost got arrested for stepping on the Trevi Fountain. Sometimes that guy needs a leash and muzzle..
Nice to see my bro Gustavo was examining and amazed by the level of detail on the Mayan carvings as well…. hope this will inspire him for the days to come.
Its time to go check in and do what we came here to do and tattoo… Ten hours then pass by. At 6:30 AM the piece of work is done and the sun is coming out. Mark is yelling at me to go to sleep but I still have one more job to do… To let you all know whats going on…
Jun i hope your praying for me…..Im going to need it. Thank you everybody for your love and support……..
to everybody in London, if you need artist we have two other artists other than myself to work on you… Give us a call at 1 714 595 8417 to book an appointment this week only…

HOMEWARD BOUND III
Thursday, September 3rd, 2009
With only several weeks into the new project, our amazing team worked ENDLESSLY, day in and day out, making progress every second…
It was a site to see. One day the space completely torn apart and stripped to its foundation, and in what seemed to be like the blink of an eye, the dry wall covered almost every inch.
The amount of effort put in by the workers was astonishing in such little time.
The team working on the new shop as well as the family at Lowrider Fountain Valley, have been stepping up their game as of late. Both know that the time is approaching…the artists going the extra mile and pumping out as much work as they can…the workers giving their blood and sweat…it’s all soon going to take a single form…
…will it all be worth it?

HOMEWARD BOUND II
Sunday, August 30th, 2009
…After a few days from making it official, construction of the new studio had begun…working literally from the ground up and tearing the building apart to start from scratch…
We had torn out the flooring, the roof, and broke the walls down…revamping everything was necessary to get us only closer.
With only a few days in, our goal to construct this new home by deadline, is more than evident…

LIVIN THE HIGH LIFE
Friday, August 28th, 2009
Our new friend Mark from Milwaukee came in yesterday, a collector in the works, and one quite fond of the fine line black and grays…
2 portraits in one day by Jose Lopez, the first, commemorating his Mother on the back of his arm, a classic face indeed…
…The second, his beautiful bestfriend and dog gracing his forearm…The hours spent to capture the still frames of memories and photos had paid off…the day was complete, but like most people who get tattoos, Mark wanted more…
Today, it was time for Gustavo Lopez to shine some more, Mark asked if he could hook it up on his opposite arm…piece by piece, puzzling his arms together, the brothers’ art meet on Mark’s canvas…
Gustavo took advantage of the prior existing work on Mark…the flow of it all from the two days had made Mark leave with a promise to keep coming back…Thanks again Mark!

INTO ACTION
Friday, August 21st, 2009
With the London Convention just around the corner in September, the artists are getting prepared dishing out tattoos left and right. Working around the clock, long days, and weary nights, preparation is everything at the moment. Ben came in today to finish up his deviant skull design, a nice break from the usual, and a nod to the artists of macabre such as Jeremiah Barba and Paul Booth, this tattoo was flooding down his upper arm…
just a taste of the things to come this month…

CHROMA STRIDES
Thursday, July 30th, 2009
Progression is an enormous part in art and tattooing, being able to see how one grows as an artist is something many long to do…it happens but to truly NOTICE it is something else. In this case, being able to see first hand, Gustavo Lopez working out of his comfort zone of black and grey and shifting to new criteria in color – back and forth – is a sure site for eyes…
Gustavo, taking advantage of the things he’s learned, adds color to his style of black and grey. Combining fine calligraphy style lines and new skool, advancing to a unique style…
We’re all excited to see more things to come out of this young and hungry artist…
STAY TUNED!

POMONA AFTERMATH
Friday, July 24th, 2009
Lowrider Tattoo was represented this past weekend at the Body Art Expo in Pomona by some of our top artists, including Chino from Lowrider Orange (Photo Below) and Gustavo Lopez holding it down to their finest, knocking out tattoo after tattoo…
…When Saturday came around, Jose and the Family had arrived…It was great to see friends both old and new. We had time to hang with our friend Stone and it was pure laughs. It was a convention that was definitely also a kick back…
The finale of this weekend awarded Lowrider Tattoo a total of three awards, 1st Place Best Portrait, 1st Place Black and Grey-Large (Jose Lopez), and 1st Place Best Aztec (Gustavo Lopez)…For Jose seeing his younger brother Gustavo receiving his first award was a feeling that couldn’t be described in a few single words. He said it reminded himself of accomplishing the same achievement of getting his first award to what seems like so many years ago…hopefully a feeling that will repeat itself so many times more in the future not just through Gustavo, but the rest of the young bloods back at the studio…
