Last night, one of our oldest friends, and Lowrider family member, Marcos, brought in his daughter Mercedes to get tattooed by Jose for her high school graduation present. The definitive female sex symbol of the old Hollywood era, a Marilyn Monroe portrait was what Mercedes wanted…

…with the timeless and romantic gesture to Marilyn, the tattoo will be sure to stand the test of time just as this icon has for decades to come…

All the while the tattoo was taking place, Marcos’ wife/Mercedes mother was also getting tattooed by Gustavo Lopez, “Mi Vida Loca” on her thigh. The photo below illustrates what a feeling and night it was. Reminiscing about old times and good days, as well as seeing the generations of family tattooing and getting tattooed. Moments like these truly never last until their sealed in skin…
