SAINT MICHAEL
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011
Our boy Mike V came in to work on his arm all the way from Idaho. I have a lot of respect for all of our loyal fans and friends that are willing to come or drive from all over. I thank all of you for all the support. Today I will continue on his arm, I just hope that he’s up to it for it will be a lot of pain for him to endure, but then again he drove 14 hours to get here so I’m sure he’ll be ok.
So with that said stay tuned for the second part of this project. thank you.

THE REAL TATTOO SCHOOL.
Tuesday, July 19th, 2011
“Ignorance of all things is an evil neither terrible nor excessive, nor yet the greatest of all; but great cleverness and much learning, if they be accompanied by a bad training, are a much greater misfortune.” – Plato
As an artist, learning is something that should always be on your mind. When apprenticing, the basics begin with drawing and studies of even the most simplest of techniques. One should always stride to become a master in his or her craft and that can only be achieved through time-not a simple two week course.

The next step is taking what you have learned on paper and apply it to your tattoos.

Then like clockwork, it’s back to studying as well as analyzing the aspects of your work entirely because one cannot tattoo what he or she cannot draw.

While studying with the Lowrider Family, apprentice Jake continues to see progress in both his drawings and tattoos, a feeling which motivates him to become a greater artist.

“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty, and persistence.”
- Collin Powell

And what’s in store for our future? The youth taking interest in the world we live in. Young Josh allows his inner genius to make way for a whole new generation of artists. Being surrounded by great works of art, Josh takes time to look at some of the artwork by tattoo greats such as Jose Lopez, Chuey Quintanar, Bob Tyrell, and Mr. Cartoon-all of them tremendous artists that will tell you that they didn’t get to where they are overnight. They poured blood, sweat and tears.

In all actuality don’t expect it all to happen in two weeks. You and I already know life just doesn’t work that way. Yeah Hollywood is entertaining but it’s no joke when it decides to chew you up and spit you out. The saying still stands…ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE.
Stay tuned…
