Good times and bad times, we’ve all had our share. 2010 has brought nothing but good times for everyone here and also to our closest friends and new friends we’ve made along the way. The year started with a long and beautiful trip to London, then it was followed with a trip to Rome, then Amsterdam. As tattoo artists, we are blessed to have this lifestyle that was built with a needle and the support of all of our friends and dedicated clients.

Now, we introduce to you a piece that has been brewing up behind the scenes here at the shop. The beauty behind the above piece can only be described with one word, “Mysterious.” One can only imagine what lies inside her eyes.

Our boy Sean was here at the shop on Monday for a second session on his ravishing tattoo until 4:30 in the morning. Time flew with all the laughs and stories that were told. Jose and Sean also discussed future plans and pieces to work on, so you don’t want to miss those.

This piece could not have been done correctly if Sean did not cooperate, but as always, Sean was a trooper. After 4 hours of pain, Sean was asked to stand up and continue to stand for the remainder of the session, which was another 3 hours. This is why we would like to send a huge shout out to the homie.
As always, stay tuned for what’s coming up in the next couple of months. There are many fascinating pieces in the works and we will continue to bring you what Lowrider delivers best.

LOWRIDER DOWN UNDER…ONCE AGAIN.
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010
A collector of amazing portrait tattoos, our good friend Paul came in from Australia on Ink N Iron weekend to get worked on by tattoo greats Mike Devries and Jack Rudy. He made a final stop at Lowrider to get some ink done by Jose Lopez. His body is is covered with portraits of many people that he admires which include Jack Nicholson in The Shining, Hannibal Lecter, and Bela Lugosi from Dracula, Alfred Hitchcock, Dr. Dre, and many others. He also has a tribute to his mother and a jesus piece that is just mesmerizing.
On Thursday, June 17th, Jose scheduled Paul with a huge session and he was blessed with a Bette Davis portrait on his leg to add to his collection. The process was a long 7 hours of work. when it was finished, Paul left with a huge feeling of satisfaction eventhough he waited a couple extra days to get the piece. By the time it was done, Paul was thrilled to have some Jose Lopez Ink.

PASS THE MIDNIGHT HOUR
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010
The last several weeks have been a busy road for all of us here at the studios. With Jose and the crew traveling to Amsterdam and the Ink ‘n’ Iron Convention being held down by Klown, Abey, and Laura Santana…there has been barely a moment of rest for all the artists…As the saying goes, the days are long but the nights are longer, this has been more then evident with Lowrider Tattoo of Orange artists, Don Laing and Adam V…

Custom skull by Adam V
The late nights are paying off for the two…allowing them more time to push their pieces the extra mile, constantly learning and adding knowledge to every work produced…

Don Laing putting in some of his extra emphasis on some script.
A natural technician, Don takes his time with every step and line . Never a compromiser of his work, don’t expect him ever to give you less than 100%. The most dangerous an artist can be, is when he realizes when and where he can pull off a piece of work well with full confidence, and Don is no exception to this opinion…Always producing clean and tight work…

A rendition on mythology’s Andromeda, Amber’s first session with Adam V.
No rest for the wicked, and no time to spare…Adam’s drive has been the need and want to consistently learn from others and as well his own…constantly in search to push his pieces further up a notch…with every piece he tries to sincerely prove he will not wait in line…Never afraid to do something different, his production of work has grabbed the attention of many and will not stop…

A precise and cleanly done tiger by Don Laing.
Keep a look out for these new up and comers, burning the clock tattooing in constant passion and style, stay tuned!

GIVING IT 110%

“Don’t Quit”
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow–
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out–
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit–
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.
- Author unknown
Today’s poem comes from an unknown Author. You must drink and eat the poem’s message in order to fully understand it’s conception. One can say that they give everything their best potential, but there are those of us who give it that little extra which helps us take that long stride to get to where we want in life. A lot of the artists here at Lowrider are very driven to make their names known in this industry and they don’t let any obstacle stand in their way. This is why this poem caught our attention. Let’s think of it as the bottom of the 9th inning and you’re team is losing in the playoffs. You have 2 outs, 3 balls, 2 strikes, where do you go from there? Would you like to go home, or onto the next stadium? You decide.

ELCO
Thursday, June 10th, 2010
We just recently returned from The Netherlands with more stories to tell. First off Elco our good friend from Europe was the first to get tattoed, he wanted a typical gangster chick with a hat, and thats what he got.

He sat through the whole session without moving enjoying every moment and at the end the final piece was well worth it.

After 4 and a half hrs Elco was proud to sport his new Lowrider Tattoo which by the way won best black and grey the following day at The Breda Tattoo Convention.
