It’s always a spiritual process for me watching Jose and studying the fundamentals be executed over and over again, but constantly evolving into terrain that hasn’t been done before. After all the years of back-breaking blood, sweat, and tears, it’s always a trip to see that process reflected from a piece like this…
From out of the darkness comes this piece, people’s jaw drops when Jose drops an unexpected illustration, but little do they know that this and many others involve months of intense labor. So from the graphite on canvas piece above we move to the next level…
A sneak peak at Mark’s leg whose work is still in process. Note that this picture does not do the piece justice. When you stare into it face to face you’ll see not only how big this piece is, but how much attention is given to all the aspects of the leg. These types of pieces always require dedication from both artist and client. After a certain period of time and ink, the division of artist and client disappears, space is created, and peace is slowly generated from the only focus in the moment, this tattoo. More shots of the work in progress coming soon, stay posted, Jun.

The big homey Gustavo Lopez, one of the leading artists at Lowrider Studios in Fountain Valley was born into the tattooing world.
At the tender age of 21, he has pursued the road to the top everyday holding the shop down with his work. Specializing in both black n’ grey and color.
Check out this sleeve he worked on a while back (still in progress). Holding the fort down isn’t an easy job, but like his brother Jose, Gustavo is ruthless when it comes down to his tattooing. Drop by the studio and see what he’s all about.

With Jose working the Milano Tattoo Convention, we the Lowrider Family in Fountain Valley thought it would be a great idea to put together a BBQ last Saturday…and have it on the same day. With an extended invitation to locals, friends, and everyone else.
Check out some photos from last Saturday.
New clients and friends.
Gustavo, Molly, and friends.
Thanks to everyone who came out and showed us love!
